& Benefits: With 10000 element CCD, ArtixScan 2500 is capable of producing superb quality transparent and reflective scans at up to 2500 dpi true optical resolution, which helps users to enlarge a 35 mm slide up to more than A3 format (11" x 17") for printing in high quality offset. The 36 bit input and output capacity and an optical dynamic range of 3.4 enables capturing every detail in highlight and shadow areas. E.D.I.T. (Emulsion Direct Imaging Technology) The Microtek's patented E.D.I.T. technology, a technological milestone for the development of high-end scanners, enables the CCD lens to read directly from the emulsion side of the film without any glass between the lens and the scanned image. By adopting E.D.I.T., the CCD sensor is able to capture the most realistic image without distortion, render the full dynamic range from the image and provide the optimal results with sharp details. The result is superb quality. Enriched and more accurate color values. No refracted light. No Newton rings -- those annoying concentric circles that appear in scanned images when film is sandwiched between two panes of glass. Color accuracy Microtek's special developed scanner driver, the ScanWizard Pro, links ICC devices on users system for more accurate color management throughout the entire image acquisition and enhancement process by using Kodak Digital Science color management engine. It is also ColorSync compatible on Macintosh system. And even though ScanWizard Pro includes embedded look up table for proper calibration, it also includes the Microtek Scanner Profiler to enable users to calibrate their scanners to a standard IT-8 target. ScanWizard Pro includes over 25MB of ICC profiles to link to monitors, inkjet or commercial offset printers, proofers or specific color spaces to supplement the profiles already in a user's system. But users can also link to new industry or custom profiles at any time even while they are working on ScanWizard Pro. 3D anti-vibration system
CCD cooling design For optimizing the sensitivity
of the CCD, a fan cooling system is especially designed and installed
in every ArtixScan2500. This fan cooling system maintains CCD at
its optimum temperature and results in top-quality images with maximum
detail everywhere. The ArtixScan 2500 also boasts internal SnapTrans templates, that eliminates the need for an external transparent media adapter. There are five film holders ( 4 film and 1 glass holder) specially designed to slide into the scanner to assist an array of different film sizes. The holders vary in size and consist of: 35 mm film strip holder, a 6 x 9 cm film holder, a 35 mm mounted slide holder and a 4" x 5" film holder. Also included is one glass holder that can handle irregular shaped film without distortion. With these SnapTrans templates, users may start loading materials for next scans without waiting for current scans to be finalized. Batch scans A Microtek's special developed scanner driver, the ScanWizard Pro, is standard packed with every ArtixScan 2500. It is an advanced scanner controller packed with batch scan feature for allowing users manage each scan job separately with different image correction and even in different modes. Software Microtek's Scanner ICC Profiler enables users to calibrate ArtixScan 2500 by using either Kodak, Agfa, or Fuji's IT8 targets. The Scanner ICC Profiler also generates ICC profiles based on the character of each individual scanner, so the best image quality can always consistently reproduced.
