powerful security features
Comfort is one of the most advanced yet simple security systems available today incorporating many creative ways to help make you and your family feel safer. You can be alerted when someone is in your garden or driveway. In the event of a break-in or a fire, Comfort can automatically dial-out to phones, pagers or even emergency services to alert or bring help. Comfort has the unique ability of letting the recipient know exactly what has happened by providing them access to interrogate the system. It will even indicate if someone is still in your home by telling you 'Activity in the lounge' or wherever the intruder is detected.  An excellent way to eliminate false alarms when responding to an intruder alert remotely.

camera - Audio, VideoTV & Surveillance
Control to keep an eye on what is happening around your house, cameras linked to Comfort can be switched onto your TV or monitor's screen as movement is detected. Comfort can do this by using your alarm detectors and can send infra red control signals to your Video and Audio equipment. This makes the switching of TV channels and Video machines possible. With a camera installed in your doorphone, when the doorbell is pressed, Comfort will cause your TV to select the AV channel and show you who is at your door. If you are away from home, the doorbell or an external movement detector can also trigger Comfort to switch on your Video to record any visitors or activity around your home.  With Comfort's Web Interface, you can even check on your home from your computer screen at work.

comfort speaks to you
Comfort can be controlled using your keypad or your home telephone or your mobile phone from anywhere in the world. Enter your code and Comfort will start to talk to you, offering you the choice from a few menu options, such as arming the system or listening to your messages on the answering machine. Comfort can be set to one of five modes, with just one or two key-strokes, such as Away Mode when leaving the house, Night Mode for Bedtime, Day Mode for protecting an area separately or Holiday Mode when going on Holiday so that your lights and curtains operate for a deterrent effect (optional). Other short-cut keys take you to commonly used menus such as setting a reminder message or intercom mode.

controlling your home is so easy
Comfort's home control option can allow you to control and operate electrical appliances within your home, such as the heating, lighting, air conditioning, curtains or garage doors, in fact almost any appliance. Comfort allows manual control using the telephone, keypad, hand held remote or automatic responses using built-in time programs, integrating the system truly within your home or office. Special power modules using the X-10 protocol are used to control your existing lights to make the house look occupied or to illuminate your escape route during a fire alarm, or to control heating, ventilation and air-conditioning appliances (HVAC). Installation is simple because the modules require very little wiring and they receive their instruction as a code down the existing ring-main circuits. The home control menu has eleven sub-menus making possible over 200 custom home control operations!

the home control menu
The Home Control menu allows you to manually control designated appliances or functions around your home. This is a custom menu and is designed by the installer according to your requirements. It may be accessed from any keypad or telephone locally or remotely by signing-in. From the Home Control Menu you can select the main appliance and function menus, where you can then switch the appliance On or off. A typical home control menu may go like this: press 0 for Gate , 1 for Home Lights , 2 for HVAC, 3 for Outside Security Light, 4 for Garage Door , 5 for Curtains, 6 for Alert Menu, 7 for Sprinkler, 8 for TV, 9 for Video. The home control menu has eleven sub-menus making possible over 200 custom home control operations!

energy savings
HVAC is an abbreviated term used to mean the control of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems. To save on heating costs, Comfort be used to setback your heating thermostat control a few degrees whenever you set your system to 'Away Mode'(i.e. alarm on). Frost protection by using temperature detectors or thermostats, Comfort can respond to various environmental conditions. On cold days the heating could switch on preventing water pipes in the loft or garage from freezing and on hot days and motorized windows could open. This can be made dependent upon whether the alarm is set or not so that the heating will only override when you are away on holiday and the windows will only open when you are at home. If you are too tired to get up and turn the heating off on a warm night, you could do it via your cordless phone in seconds. By using the movement detectors within the childrens bedroom, you can ensure that during times when the security system is off, the lights will switch off once the room has become unnoccupied saving on electricity.

the lived-in look
Homes are often burgled while the property is obviously unnoccupied, so doesn't it make sense to make your house look like there is someone living there even when there isn't? Comfort can help by simulating the appearance of an occupied home by switching lights and closing curtains and even operating the TV or radio . Comfort's Holiday Mode does this using random control within a one hour time window to achieve a realistic effect. Another Comfort function is to deter prowlers should they come close to the property. The system can detect movement in the rear garden or yard and then switch internal lights on in a preset sequence. For example, during the night while your tucked up soundly in bed motion detected in the rear garden (a potential burglar) could first switch on the landing light then 5 seconds later, the hall light and finally the outside light, giving the appearance of someone in the house getting up to investigate. Very comforting for women/elderly in the house alone.  During the day, Comfort can also dial-out silently and alert you.

remote control
Comfort lets you stay in touch wherever you are. Comfort's built-in voice dialler can call up to 8 telephone numbers, pager or monitoring station. Comfort can call you if there is a power-cut or in the event of an alarm letting you know exactly what has happened. Additionally, you can call Comfort and interrogate the system for any information, just as if you're at home! Now you can check that all is well at home from anywhere in the world, just call-in from your phone and take away the uncertainty. The power and usefulness of being able to control or interrogate your system from any phone in the world should not be underestimated. If you wanted to be certain that no-one was in your property before you enter, you can do so. You can also use this feature to phone in and switch the lights or heating on in advance or for convenience even to switch the VCR to record a programme (you'll need to remember the blank tape).

intelligent doorphone
Have you ever had your doorbell ring when you were in the bathroom? Or missed a delivery because you were away from the house or in the rear garden? Comfort's Intelligent Doorphone allows you to use a cordless phone anywhere around the house or garden to talk to a visitor at you door, thus avoiding those frustrating situations. If you are away from home with Comfort armed and the doorphone button is pressed, Comfort can call to your mobile phone or any other phone (if instructed to do so), so that you can talk with your visitor from wherever you are! If no one answers the door phone either from within the premises or remotely, after a brief time, the doorphone can take a message from the visitor and will be played to you when you arrive home. You can even have your doorbell switch-off the vacuum cleaner or pause the CD Player so you can hear the doorbell or the phone ringing!

your messaging centre voice mail
At the heart of your Comfort system is the messaging centre. This is like eight answering machines in one giving each person in the household their own personal voice mail system which is accessible using their own unique pin-code. An incoming caller would first hear your greeting message and then be able to choose from a list who they are leaving their message for.

message forwarding
If you wish, Comfort can forward your messages to your cellular phone as they arrive or you can phone in to collect them. Ever left home in a hurry and forgot to switch on the answer-machine? Not so with Comfort because Comfort does it for you whenever you arm or disarm the system, when you arrive home and disarm the system you will hear your messages. Upon arriving home a steady light on the keypad shows that a memo has been left for you by another member of the household, a flashing light shows that an outside caller has left a message.

comfort's intercoms
If additional keypads are installed, they can act as intercoms. By pressing F key followed by 8. you can start talking to all the other intercoms on the premises. A red MIC light on the keypad will illuminate to indicate that the microphone is turned on, i.e. in Talk Mode. When anyone presses any key on another keypad, all other keypads are switched off. This operation is designed to protect privacy as nobody can turn on another keypad to listen-in without someone else knowing. Intercoms and keypads can have many uses: Comfort can have up to 8 keypads and intercoms giving you the ability to listen to sounds within your property from your home phone, cellular phone or another keypad. You can also make an announcement through your speakers. To save your legs and your voice, you can broadcast a message to everyone around the house, what could be easier? If you are a carer or you have a baby, you can use the intercoms in 'monitor mode' to listen for sounds in the vacinity of the keypad, Comfort is always there to keep you in touch.
